The USPS has improved the service on priority mail to include package tracking and insurance up to $50. Each time you ship a package by USPS Priority Mail, we at University Mailing Services will attach a barcode label and return the tracking receipt to you. You can then go to track, enter your number and follow the progress of your package. If your package is lost or damaged in transit, you can file a claim at claim. You may be asked to produce a receipt to show proof of value.
You will also receive tracking on packages sent USPS standard post (slower, less expensive shipping service). These labels will only be used on packages sent to addresses served by the US Postal Service (US States, territories, and military addresses). If your department is planning to send a large number of priority mail packages, contact us in advance to make arrangements to obtain labels for your packages.
Remember: Any USPS First Class mail piece that weighs over 13 ounces is sent USPS Priority Mail.
